On Thursday 06 February 2025 between the hours of 11:00 and 14:00,the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Overloads Unit Officers, impounded twelve(12) motorcycles for failing to meet the requirements of the National Road Traffic Act 93/1996 in the Alberton area.
While conducting law enforcement duties between Swartkoppies, R554, Garfield, Lincoln and Ascott Road, Officers conducted inspections for compliance of motorcycles operating as delivery vehicles in the Alberton area.
Officers stopped and inspected twelve (12) Big boy motorcycles, upon inspection Officers found the said vehicles operating without license disc, undocumented foreign nationals’ drivers operating with fraudulent licences and without work permits or visa.
The EMPD will leave no stone unturned to ensure road users are adhering to the rules of the road and meets the requirements of the National Road Traffic Act 93/1996.
