Drug trade disrupted by police action

A highly successful targeted Stop and Search Operation conducted by Sarah Baartman District Operational Command Centre resulted in the arrest of a 25-year-old male suspect in Arcadia, Humansdorp.

On Sunday, 13 April 2025, members that were performing crime prevention patrols in assigned areas, noticed a suspicious looking male suspect and approached him. Upon searching a sling bag that he carried, members found and confiscated one (1) live 9mm ammunition, one (1) imitation firearm and one thousand mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R102 500,00.

The 25-year-old male suspect was arrested and is due to appear before the Humansdorp Magistrate court on Monday, 14 April 2025 on charges of dealing in drugs, illegal possession of live ammunition and possession of imitation firearm with intend to commit a crime.
