Polokwane International Airport Instrument Approach Procedure Operational

09 April 2025 | From Arrive Alive

Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) SOC Limited wishes to advise of the immediate reinstatement of the instrument approach procedure for Polokwane International Airport. This critical flight procedure is now fully operational.

On Tuesday, 8 April 2025, the flight procedure for Polokwane International Airport was among those that received exemption approval from the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA).

ATNS is working on the maintenance of flight procedures for Bram Fischer, Upington, and Richards Bay airports, with expected submission to SACAA by 30 April 2025. Once the procedures are approved, an Alternative Means of Compliance (AMOC) application will be submitted to allow for the use of the approved procedures while the publication process takes place.

ATNS remains committed to ensuring the highest standard of safety and efficiency in air navigation. We will continue to keep all stakeholders informed about the progress of our Flight Procedure Maintenance Programme.
