SAPS Official Killed/Robbed Of Firearm: Inanda - KZN

A SAPS Official was killed after he was shot multiple times during a robbery on Mafukazela Drive in Inanda - KZN this afternoon (Tuesday).
The off-duty Policeman parked his vehicle on the roadside and proceeded to a tuck shop. He was accosted by suspects who fired multiple shots at him. The injured male was robbed of his firearm and man bag. His attackers thereafter fled in a silver VW Polo (registration unknown).
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Phoenix Operations Centre received multiple calls for assistance from the public following the shooting. Reaction Officers and RUSA Paramedics were immediately dispatched.
On arrival at approximately 18:27, RUSA Members were informed that the critically injured Policeman was expedited to hospital privately. His family arrived shortly thereafter and confirmed that the SAPS Official was pronounced deceased upon arrival at a medical facility. Multiple spent 9mm cartridges were recovered at the scene.
One (1) suspect was shot in the arm and arrested by Police at a local clinic.
