Most wanted hijackers and business robbery suspects arrested

A business robbery was committed during October 2023 at Giyani and a suspect was arrested but failed to attend the Regional Court.

A warrant for his arrest was issued on the 11 December 2024 as he was on the run. While he was still on the run, a carjacking at gun point was committed and the suspect was positively identified.

On the 03 January 2025 at about 21:00 members of Mopani District Tracking Team together with Giyani Public Order Policing members organised an operation to trace the fleeing Tivani Perseverance Drogba Mahlaule in his hiding place at Giyani Ma-two rooms at Moutain View. The house was approached tactically and he was found and while been searched a black Audi car key and which belongs to a hijacked black Audi which was found abandoned at Nkomo 22 B village, was found in his trouser pocket.

He directed the SAPS members to his 38 year old friend where he was found with an unlicensed 9mm pistol and the second friend was visited and was found with an unlicensed 9mm firearm and one live ammunition at a house in Homu 14 B village.

A 33-year-old Drogba Tivani Mahlaule who was wanted is facing Business robbery and Carjacking.

The second 38-yearo-ld suspect is facing Possession of unlicensed firearm

The third, 29-year-old suspect is facing Possession of unlicensed firearm and unlawful possession of one ammunition.

The three suspects will appear on the 06 January 2025 in Giyani Magistrate Court.

The Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe thanked residents of Giyani for trusting members of Mopani District Tracking Team with this sensitive information which led to these arrests and seizure of two unlicensed firearms. She applauded members for their swift reaction upon receiving information.
