On Friday morning, members from IPSS Search & Rescue, IPSS S&R Tongaat, SAPS K9 Search & Rescue, Durban Metro Police Search & Rescue, Mobiclaw, ER24 and so many more, returned to the farm in the upper Tongaat area to continue the search for a 3-year-old little boy.
The little boy was reported missing after his 7-year-old brother had been viciously assaulted by their stepfather with what is believed to have been a panga, which left him in a critical condition.
The search was called off mid-morning, after information came through that the suspect had been arrested, and had agreed to lead SAPS to the body of the little boy.
Sadly, he was found around 2 pm on Friday. His body was recovered and handed over to SAPS.
Thank you to all who came out today, there were almost 50 people, from police to volunteers, it is always inspiring to see how many people come together when there is a child in need.
Well done to SAPS, on arresting this suspect for a horrendous crime, and on bringing closure to a family.
Our condolences go out to the friends and family of the deceased.
