With warnings of an approaching storm on Monday afternoon, no one was prepared for what was about to strike Tongaat and outlying areas.
As videos of a large, suspected tornado started to appear on social media platforms, the calls for help started to come in, and IPSS Search and Rescue as well as medical teams were immediately dispatched.
The trail of destruction was something rarely witnessed by teams, and the work began to assist those affected.
