The N3 Toll Route has been fully REOPENED to traffic following the serious multiple vehicle crash in the early hours of this morning. “We extend our gratitude to all road users for their patience and understanding. Thank you to our partners in the Road Incident Management System (RIMS) for their swift response to this major crash scene,” says Thania Dhoogra, operations manager of N3 Toll Concession (N3TC).
Road users are cautioned to continue to approach the area with caution. While traffic flow has been restored on Van Reenen Pass, motorists should be prepared for slow-moving traffic, congestion and possible delays.
The N3 Toll Route is expected to remain busy today. More than 1500 vehicles per hour are currently traveling southbound (towards KwaZulu Natal), with approximately 800 vehicles per hour heading northbound (towards Gauteng). “Please share the road responsibly. Plan ahead, stay informed and adopt a defensive driving style to ensure your safety, and that of your passengers and fellow road users,” ends Ms Dhoogra.
