MEC Radzilani concludes hospital visits for passengers of the bus crash on the N1 outside Makhado in Vhembe District

The Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Mme Florence Radzilani, has concluded her visit to hospitals that are tending to patients of the accident that claimed 21 lives, on the N1 outside Makhado in Vhembe District. 

During these visits, the MEC was able to establish that 19 people perished on the scene of the accident, and two while in the hospital. This takes the number of fatalities to 21, from the initial 20.

She also used the opportunity to interact with the families of the injured to extend warm words of comfort and encouragement.

MEC Radzilani also expressed gratitude for the speedy response of law enforcement and emergency services and the dedication of health practitioners who are tending to the injured passengers. 

For her part, the MEC has committed that she will endeavor to ensure that her Department expedites the conclusion of the accident report so that the victims can make claims with the Road Accident Fund.
