Driver killed In road crash on the R102, Ballito

A man was killed after his vehicle overturned on the R102 in the vicinity of Ballito - KZN a short while ago (Saturday).
At approximately 20:02 a Reaction Officer was on patrol on the R102 when he was flagged down by other motorists requesting assistance at the scene of an accident. It was established that a Mercedes Benz with two occupants was travelling in the direction of Ballito when the driver lost control of the vehicle which left the road and overturned into a ditch filled with water.
The occupants of the vehicle were freed from the wreckage by passing motorists who stopped to assist. Medics from a private ambulance service arrived on scene and accessed the unresponsive driver. He was found to have been fatally injured in the accident and died at the scene. His 24-year-old passenger was not injured.
