Pedestrian causes tragic head-on-collision

This morning at around 07h00 Netcare 911 and the emergency services responded to an accident on the M25. On arrival we found that a taxi travelling towards KwaMashu collided with a pedestrian, lost control went across the grass verge and collided with a bakkie head on. Realising the intensity of the scene paramedics called for the Netcare Helicopter with a trauma team on board to assist with the stabilising of the patients.
Sadly one of the passengers of the bakkie, an Indian male died on scene due to the severity of his injuries. Another passenger from the bakkie and the pedestrian had sustained critical injuries and one of them was airlifted to a hospital in Durban for further treatment the other was transported to hospital by ambulance. The taxi driver and two other passengers from the bakkie had sustained serious injuries and after paramedics stabilised them, they were transported to various hospitals in the Durban region for treatment.
